The world lost a truly great person in June of ’22. Eric Krueger was the victim of a drunk driver. Eric was returning from a midday meeting when his vehicle was struck head on by the drunk driver. Eric was only 47 yrs old, husband to a loving wife and father of 2 wonderful girls.
Eric's greatest gift was his ability to relate to people of all walks of life. At Eric’s Memorial Service, many people expressed similar comments about their impressions of him. His smile and passion personally touched the over 1000 people who attended the service.
“Eric’s greatest gift was his ability to form friendships wherever he went.”
“He had a passion for life.”
“He was fiercely loyal- to his family and the friends he made along the way.”
“He was the consummate competitor.”
“He was a winner from the start, a huge asset to the organization.”
"From that moment, I realized how selfless Mr. Krueger was. He not only cared immensely about his own daughter, but he also sincerely cared for me and the other girls on the team. "
Eric was a devout Christian, Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Friend. His love for family and friends knew no boundaries. The outpouring of love, friendships and remembrances from former classmates, friends, coworkers, and teammates gave Eric’s family the conviction to build on his legacy. The decision to create the charitable foundation in Eric’s memory was an easy one. The Eric Krueger Foundation is built upon the values and principles that Eric lived his life by. These include love, friendship, education and sportsmanship. The Eric Krueger Foundation strives to continue teaching these values and principles to the next generation in honor of Eric and how he lived his life. Eric may be gone but his legacy will continue in the hearts and minds of those he touched during and now, after his life.
In forming The Eric Krueger Foundation, the family wanted to impact the community that Eric loved in a personal and dramatic way. With Eric’s love of sports and belief in education, helping students realize their dream of furthering their education was a natural goal. The Foundation will raise money in a variety of ways in order to achieve this goal. The proceeds will go towards scholarships for deserving senior student athletes in the Klein HS Baseball and Klein Cain HS Volleyball programs. The Foundation is also excited to provide additional support for Houston Area MADD, Klein HS Baseball, and The Woodlands HS Cheer programs. Eric was a standout baseball player for Klein and always supported the program attending alumni games and events. Eric loved Klein Cain Volleyball, where his younger daughter excelled, and could be seen cheering on the girls at every match. Eric believed in family and always supported his nieces in their athletic careers. It is the mission of The Foundation to help these students, who exemplify the values and principles of Eric Krueger, continue their educational journeys. With a little help from us, these student athletes will become the great leaders and people in the spirit of our lost loved one, Eric.
